Research-Grade Citrate Antigen Retrieval Buffer

1× Sodium Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0 is a ready-to-use, research-grade buffer developed for heat-induced epitope retrieval (HIER) in immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows. This high-purity citrate antigen retrieval buffer helps reverse protein cross-links created during tissue fixation, allowing antibodies to access target epitopes more effectively. As a result, researchers can achieve stronger staining, improved signal intensity, and more consistent experimental outcomes.

We sterilise the solution using 0.22 µm filtration and prepare it to be DNase-free, RNase-free, protease-free, and pyrogen-controlled. Consequently, it is well suited for sensitive laboratory procedures where sample integrity and reproducibility are essential. Furthermore, the buffer arrives ready to use, so no dilution or additional preparation is required.

Key Features

  • Type: 1× Sodium Citrate Antigen Retrieval Buffer

Performance and Applications

This sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 effectively breaks the cross-links formed by formaldehyde, paraformaldehyde, and other aldehyde-based fixatives. Therefore, it enhances epitope exposure in paraffin-embedded and frozen tissue sections while improving antibody binding and staining quality.

Researchers commonly use this buffer for immunohistochemistry, antigen unmasking, tissue preparation, and other HIER protocols. In addition, it performs reliably with standard retrieval methods, including microwave heating, pressure cookers, and water baths.

Storage and Intended Use

Store the buffer between 2°C and 30°C in a tightly sealed container. Under recommended storage conditions, the unopened product has a 36-month shelf life. After opening, use appropriate aseptic techniques to maintain product quality.

This 1× Sodium Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0 is intended strictly for laboratory research use only. It is not intended for human or veterinary use and is not suitable for diagnostic, therapeutic, or medical applications. It provides a dependable solution for researchers seeking reliable antigen retrieval and consistent immunohistochemistry performance.
